What is Blue Ray?

Ive been hearing that movies are available on dvd or blue ray.....what the hell?!? is there something new already to replace dvd's?

Blu-Ray is a new form of optical storage. It's called "Blu-Ray" because it uses shorter wave-length ultraviolet violet to read and write to media. And, yes, nothing ever stays the same for very long in the technology business...
