Eh, considering you age you are most likely in junior high or middle school. Dating at your age should be all completely fun, don't take it too serious because you will look back and laugh at all of the dramatics. But still no one really starts dating seriously till they are generally 16-24 or even later all depending on thier maturity level. Good luck but remember when you are young, don't take it too serious and when you date a spaz of a girlfriend tell her to chill out and get off of your back if you don't call everyday or when she flips out over little ****. Have fun growing up! Oh yeah I started dating when I was 14 but I don't really count any of those "relationships" I have been through so many high school realtionships and my boyfriend now if the first guy that actually counts and he is 21 and I am a few months from getting out of highschool. Like I said, don't take it too serious and have fun!

I was 18. I know, I was ancient. But by then, I knew myself, I was self-confidant and I wasn't going to be pushed into doing things I didn't want to. You are too young. Wait until you are more mature. At 12 you are still a child. I know you don't want to hear that but it is true. Be a child, childhood is short enough as it is and once you are a grown-up, you can't go back, you have to live with it for the rest of your life. Enjoy the freedom of being young while you can.

I was sneaking around at 16. My mother forbade dating till I reached the age of 18. I really thought she was being overprotective at the time. Now that I'm a parent I've sure changed my mind. My own son is 16 now and I'm terrified about it.

I was 16.

Why are you wanting to date at 12? Geez, I was collecting baseball cards and playing army with my buddies when I was that age ( in1972).

Seriously, enjoy this age. Don't be in such a hurry to grow up. You'll find you regret it in later years.

i had my first "real" relationship at 17. my parents were real strict with me, but i wasn't that interested in it when i was your age. Then, when i told them i had a boyfriend, they seemed okay with it.
