No, it's temperment. It's a trait not associated with one's intelligence.

The two are not related at all. Having worked with mildly mentally retarded people for many years (with IQs in the 50-60 range), I have found most of them to be pretty placid and easy-going.
Being quick to anger is a sign of low frustration-tolerance and a lack of control over our emotions--such emotionality and a person's intellectual level seem to have little to do with each other.

No, I know people who have an I.Q. of 155 and higher who are quick to anger. If fact I wonder if people with a higher I.Q. don't just anger more quickly because of all of the stupid people out there.

Not necessarily. Just low tolerance, or maybe depression or even a sign of total dissatisfaction with their own place in life, so they lash out to make themselves feel less inadequate.

To really know, you need to understand the person and learn how they became the way they are.

nope, quick to anger can mean a lot of other things like that person might already be in a lot of pain and is lashing out. Usually it will be about stuff that has nothing to do with the situation.

It sounds like the person is either stressed out or just has a bad attitude. Temper has nothing to do with smarts.

No. My husband is this way since returning home from Iraq and he was not like this before and his I.Q. has not changed.

It's a good sign of MENTAL INSTABILITY!!!! And then of course there is the issue of reciprocity when you are around someone who is quick to fly off the handle...like begets like, I think.

No, but it is probably a sign of low EQ or emotional intelligence.
