My daughter was born with these marks on her forehead and under her nose. She is almost 5 and I don't even notice them anymore. She knows about them and we call them her pretty marks. Before she was born I lost my mother and grandfather. I tell her that where she has her pretty marks is where grandma and great-papa kissed her good bye from heaven. She loves that story. Make her be proud of what she has. (*not very many other people have them)
We informed the teacher about them and told her what we call them and f any student decides to take it upon themselves to belittle her, that the teacher will step in.
If in time she decides that she no longer wants them, we will look into our options with her doctor. I had a friend in high school who decided at age 17 she no longer wanted hers and had them removed with a laser.
Either way, tell her that these are a part of who she is, and to not make a point of them (pointing out a flaw will make her feel self conscience)

They usually go away by the age of 2 or at least fade considerably. My son has this on his forehead (he is almost 13 months) and it has faded a good bit. It gets brighter when he cries. The answer your doctor gave you is correct. Its basically pressure from birth, where that particular area has "fused" together.

It is probably a birth mark. My daughter is 7 years old and you can still see that reddish/soft pink mark and I was told the same. In a hot day or when she exercises...you can see it more vividly but it was makes her...HER!!.It is her on birth tattoo if you wish to call it like that.
Like in one movie I saw with Kevin Costner where he finds his lost baby girl in the jungle and recognizes her by a dragon fly mark she has from birth!
Don't worry, I am sure you baby is adorable with OR without those bangs!

I believe its a birth mark my niece was born with 1 on her thigh like a spot where the diaper gos and when we first seen it we thought she was allergic 2 her diapers and ended up giving away cases of diapers and took her 2 the doctor and he said "oh no one told you we recorded that at birth as a birth mark"

They are generally called a stork bite ( not a straw berry birthmark these are raised) My son had a huge dark red one because he was stuck for 20 of the 45 minutes I pushed. My doctor said it would fade as did a friend whose son had one. They were right he's 4 now and you onlysee it if he gets mad the spot where it was turns purplish when the rest of his face gets red.

It may be a birth mark because my son's went away. He does have a pinkish reddish mark on his back that never faded but were all use to it now.

My son has that.. it shows up when he gets overheated.. but as a baby it was darker.. we called it Angel Kisses.. He is 5 now and it has faded alot.. he also had them on the back of his neck in his hairline. I believe it will fade as she gets older. Good luck.
