Jesus Christ was not his name.
He was the Christ Child (Saviour) and was named Jesus AFTER.

His real name was 'Isa al-Mesih ibn Miriam',
Don't forget that he was from an Arabic area. Bethlehem, Jerusalem was not filled with Westerners even though the pictures portray Jesus as white.

My personal belief is that this person never existed but I researched a little and found that Isa al-Mesih ibn Miriam DID.
So, to answer you his middle name was Mesih , later changed to 'Messiah'

Fits rather well doesn't it?

It is a one word name, like the one-word names of the other Prophets. The 'Christ' was his title. The name-word Jesus has great many variations in languages other than English. In Northern India, it is 'Yassu' for Jesus and 'Masih' for Christ.

If we want to be pedantic, it would be Bar, meaning son of. Jesus Bar Joseph, but it hardly counts as a middle name really.
