I did it a few years ago and yes you lose weight quickly. I lost a stone and a half in around 2 months. However, unless you follow a maintenance programme afterwards (ie you start eating "normally" again instead) the weight will go back on.

Depending on how much weight you have to lose,it's better if you only have 10-20 lbs. If you have to lose more than that, the diet gets extremely boring and you miss chewing.
I didn't find the shakes kept me satisfied till the next meal. However, the diet itself allows a fruit or a Slim Fast bar in between shakes.

The shakes themselves had me in the bathroom more frequently than I cared to be in there. It seems they load the powder with fiber or laxatives or something.

Overall, I don't think it works for too many people. You would be better off eating a low calorie snack every 3 hours.

Slimfast is really a kwik diet, say if your going to a wedding at the end of the month and cant get into that dress, give it a try. I quite like the banana one. I always ensure I eat breakfast, toast, cereal and fruit, then have a proper lunch, but if i go out for a sit down lunch and have a lot, I will just have a slimfast for my evening meal. Dont overload you tummy late in the day. Also, as mentioned, this is a quick fix only...dont do it for a long period of time, and once you have got to your ideal weight, maintain it with regular exercise and a decent diet.

Have u been 2 their website? they have amazing success stories on there...i have been doing the Slim-Fast for about 3 weeks now and have lost about 4lbs...just like with any other diet plan u have to stick with it and be self disciplined and of course if u stop doing the diet and go back to your bad eating habits that had u doing the Slim-Fast diet in the first place then uhhh... ya.. you will gain the weight back...I personally like the way that the shakes and snack bars taste...plus they have tons of vitamins!! any how GOOD LUCK on what ever u decide!!

You would be better just following a calorie controlled diet. for example you could have Oatso simple for breakfast for the same calories as a shake, a weight watchers soup and slice of toast for lunch and then an balanced meal - which would be much more appetising.

I use www.weightlossresources.co.uk if you put in what you weigh, your height and how much you want to lose it will tell you how many calories you need a day!

To answer your question, yes and yes.I have used it and found it really good.Of course you need to discipline yourself too.The hardest part I found was the beginning but after the first few days you start not to feel so hungry.

I found that if I had a shake for breakfast and then one for lunch I could still have a pretty big dinner at night. The shakes are also really delicious.I lost ten kgs in ten weeks following this diet last year.

It is worth giving it a try and seeing it works for you.Good luck!

I lost my post baby weight on it. However, it doesn't set the foundation for good health. It's really hard to stick to also. And if you cheat, those calorie dense shakes actually make you GAIN weight.
I would go with south beach diet. You can snag recipes for free off the internet. No need to join or buy anything.
Go to this link, every 2 weeks you move up a phase from 1 to 2 to 3. You can get recipes here and make up your own menu.

I tried it once and it was great until I started eating normally again! :-) I'd recommend the GI diet-it just gets you into a healthy way of eating all the right things and you never feel hungry-I've lost 4 stone on it so far :-)

Yes it works, but boy was I hungry. Wouldnt do it again, I lost about 3 stone but put it back on over a length of time. Try weightwatchers hun, its much better. If you dont want to go to meetings you can do it online as well.
