The parent clubs write the breed standards for the AKC. Do they also write the breed standards for the UKC? Or someone else?

Please note that I'm looking for person opinions about the value/merit/worth of the UKC. Just wondering who writes the standards.

If by UKC you mean the United Kennel Club then yes they have the same breed standards as the AKC. They are a legit registry. They are the second oldest & largest registry in the US.When started many years ago theri main focus was on hunting breeds but now it is almost all of the breeds recognized by AKC and a few more. They hold shows which have many of the same rules & regulations as the AKC. Many people who show in AKC also show in UKC. Many AKC dogs are dual reg. with UKC.

It's the same as AKC. Just like every breed has an AKC parent club, there are parent clubs in the UKC. You will find that the UKC is very much performance event oriented, and that their shows lean more to the showing of performance bred dogs.
