Well, I bought a new laptop yesterday. Had no choice but to get one with Vista. I tryed to get one before Vista came out, but the stores where sold out. This OS is defiantly not worth it. Nothing I have tried so far seems to be compatible. None of my on line games, Frontpage, my music downloader, nothing. I want to use XP but i am not sure how to go about doing that. I hate to go spend more money to get it, when I just bought this laptop yesterday. I am currently trying to reinstall to factory default to see if it helps. I can't even get on the net with it because it gives me an error message most of the time and shuts down.

Nothing new really for the home user. Needs at least a gig of ram, some say 2 gigs to run nicely. If upgrading you got to make sure your hardware is compatible, and hopefully all your software is. It's just another operating system, wait till you have to get a new computer is your best best. Chow

Please don't repeat your question. It's BOGUS.

Getting a new computer with Windows Vista is almost like BUYING a MAC. Some software won't work. Some devices won't work. But if you are just starting out, it's probably GREAT.

But I wouldn't Upgrade to it, since some of your devices won't work, and some of your software won't work. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 won't work. Some versions of QuickBooks won't work.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

I can't see anything good or bad with it yet, but it's too soon to rush out and buy it, because I for one need to find out if my computer can handle it. I heard some people saying they will buy a new computer they know will handle it, or has it pre-loaded in it on purchase.
