The Bible's accuracy and reliability have been proved and verified over and over again by archaeological finds produced by both believing and no believing scholars and scientists. This included verification for numerous customs, places, names, and events mentioned in the Bible.
One among many examples is the fact that for many years the existence of the Hittites (a powerful people who lived during the time of Abraham) was questioned because no archaeological digs had uncovered anything about them. Critics claimed the Hittites were pure myth. But today the critics are silenced. Abundant archaeological evidence for the existence of the Hittites during the time of Abraham has been uncovered.
Bible scholar Donald J. Wiseman notes, "The geography of Bible lands and visible remains of antiquity were gradually recorded until today more than 23,000 sites within this region and dating to Old Testament times, in their broadest sense, have been located." Nelson Glueck, a specialist in ancient literature, did an exhaustive study and concluded: "It can be stated categorically that no archaeological discovery has ever controverter a biblical reference." Well-known scholar William F. Albright, following a comprehensive studies, wrote: "Discovery after discovery has established the accuracy of innumerable details, and has brought increased recognition of the value of the Bible as a source of History."

There are more than 24,000 partial and complete manuscript copies of the New Testament. These manuscript copies are very ancient and they are available for inspection NOW. there are also some 86,000 quotations from the early church fathers and several thousand lectionaries (church-service books containing Scripture quotations used in the early centuries of Christianity). In fact, there are enough quotations from the early church fathers that even if we did not have a single copy of the Bible, scholars could still reconstruct all but 11 verses of the entire New Testament from material written within 150 to 200 years from the time of Christ. Bottom line: The New Testament has an overwhelming amount of evidence supporting its reliability.

1. it most accurately fits the criteria of a valid "historical writing" than any other "classical history" ( if you dont know what that means, research it for yourself and you will come to the same conclusion)

2. the oldest copies of manuscripts appear much closer to the dates of the originals and with more copies being available (150 yrs and some 50+ copies as opposed to 400 yrs and 1 solitary copy) than those "classical histories" (once again do the research)

3. when most of it was written people were still around who were alive when the events depicted took place, so if those events were inaccurate, people would have been around to refute these writings, yet you will not find 1 writing contemporaneous with the Bible that refutes Biblical events in fact you will find that writings from those time periods confirm that people, places, and events mentioned took place.

If the Bible is not real, it is a conspiracy that took place over thousands of years between people who never met, got no earthly reward for taking part, and some of whom were willing to pay with their lives just to tell a story. I find that preposterous.

I can prove that it is incorrect. It is very simple, and anyone who does not agree is delusional. Open the Bible read genesis. Genesis is false! Look at it, the very first portion of the Bible is incorrect. Denial will only get you so far.

In exactly the same way that you can prove that it is not real.

I'm not being sarcastic (well not much anyway ), but the whole concept of faith is your answer. You can have faith in literal translation, you can have faith that it is a collection of history, laws, and parables, or you can have faith that it is largely mythical and allegorical.

Many places, times, and activities recorded in the bible have been correlated with archaeological evidence.

The Bible is real. Whether it's even remotely accurate, on the other hand, is highly debatable.

the consistency of the 66 books written by about 40 people over 2000 years (more or less) testifies to its authenticity. It presents itself as special, and invites us to test it. I have, and I find it persuasive. (a "test tube" proof is impossible, and inappropriate)

The bible, and its many versions, is real. Whether it's accurate or not, is another question.

It's a real historical account of the emergence of Israelite culture but just not a real divine revelation.
