My 22mth old girl says her name, how old she is, where she lives, can string about 5 words together to make sentence and can count to 13 with a little help. My first child, so I don't know if this is quite advanced or normal??

I don't mean she just says 5 words, she repeats every word you say to her and knows every character from all her faves programmes and stuff.......

All kids learn at different levels. My son was talking in full sentences when he was 18 months. She sounds like she is on the right path though. Just keep teaching her and she will keep progressing.

That sounds very normal to me. I have a 3yo (turned 3 in Oct) girl and a boy who will be 2 next week. I've been told that both of them speak extremely well for their age. When my boy was born I remember that my girl who was 15 months at the time was speaking in full sentences, could count to ten in english and spanish. Now I don't think THAT is normal, but she's always seemed to be ahead of the curve. Every child develops at their own age.

My little girl was 2 years old last monday and since she was about 21 mths was able to say words but since xmas she has started putting words together like "Daddy gone to work", "Where has daddy gone", (also mummy when I am at work), "Please have juice" - all things like that. She can count up to 10 when helped and we are just starting to learn the alphabet. In picture books she knows all the things that you point to and says the word to you. I think your little girl is normal, I bet she is walking though. My daughter is still getting about on her bottom or walking holding one hand with you when out and about.

Sounds like my 26 month old back then. HV said she was advanced and to choose her schooling very carefully. she's 26 month now and talking to everyone, singing songs, having converataions, stringing sentances with connectives, counting and learning her phonemes. It's just good to know that she'll probably be able to hold her own at school.

That sounds about right. Always look for opportunities to introduce new words etc. My husband and I have always talked normally to and around my daughter - no baby talk, and I think that has helped her. Try to video tape or record her talking now, and listen to it in a year. The difference is amazing.

Sounds normal
My daughter is 16 monthsa and she doesnt say any sentences yet, just single words. She can say about 50 words including mum, dad, book, ball, dog, cat, car, stuff she sees a lot.

Don't worry all kids develop at different ages, but it seems that the oldest and or first child is always a little advanced.
My fist born at age 2 could tell you his full name, age, address, first 3 presidents of the Us, who sewed the first flag and more..I was proud..to say the least.
So, mom keep up the good work.

different children learn to talk at different ages but this doesnt mean there is anything wrong with a child that only starts to talk a bit later on than there first child did. But if they do not talk before 2 and a half i would bring to pediatrician just to be sure
