Please don't repeat your question. It's BOGUS.

Getting a new computer with Windows Vista is almost like BUYING a MAC. Some software won't work. Some devices won't work. But if you are just starting out, it's probably GREAT.

But I wouldn't Upgrade to it, since some of your devices won't work, and some of your software won't work. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 won't work. Some versions of QuickBooks won't work.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

I think it looks beautiful, I love its interface, but it sucks, and it has a lot of bugs, and wait some composite manager in Linux can do like Vista also!
I will not buy, download, or use it in any way any more!
I tried Vista Ultimate once for 14 days and never try it again.
Now I am sticked with Ubuntu, it has a really nice look when I install a composite manager and it's free.

Vista uses 15gb of disk space to install, and after install it takes 4gb, while Ubuntu takes no more than 1gb (from the system requirements)!

Also, Windows Vista copies OSX, for the proof,

If you are going to upgrade to Vista, see this:

Pros: Neat features, slick interface.

Cons: Resource hog, completely unnecessary for 95% of computer users, gauranteed to be filled with bugs, and not support the majority of hardware (at least for a while).

Synopsis, unless you have a brand new machine - don't mess with it, even if you have a new machine - don't mess with it, unless there is something it can do that you CANNOT live without, it will just be a waste of money and time. And since none of the die-hard vista fans seem to be able to list a single thing that it can do that is actually necessary to boot the computer and run programs, you should probably avoid it until it becomes a necessity (hopefully by that time they'll have worked out most of the bugs, and supported more hardware).

More pretty bells and whistles, too many versions, way too expensive.

Aside from Ramboost and the Aero interface (which is cool but isn't even in the Home Basic version) it doesn't do anything that XP can't do- it's just bug-fixes and tries to make networking easier- which isn't hard to begin with.

But the performance drop on most hardware is awful.
