butter is very tasty & makes every thing taste very good too, unfortunately loaded with cholestrol ,margarine is less harmful healthwise but hardly any taste worth speaking .of..

Neither one is particularly amazing for you. Pick your poison. Saturated fat or man-made chemicals. There's plenty of arguments for and against both.
I prefer real butter, and I prefer to make my own butter.. I take issue with putting weird chemicals in my body more than a little bit of fat. Real butter has a stronger taste so you use less of it, I grew up with margarine and a tub of butter lasts longer than a similar sized tub of margarine.

As long as you take anything in moderations is ok. 10 years ago, my dietitian told me to have only margarine as it is good for health and butter is too much fat and is just 'fat'. Now she tells me that in the recent studies shows that there is a possibility of increase in the bad cholestrol with margarine. So, be careful (?) Careful about what?
Anyway, as a diabetic for the past 10 years with a 4 generations of family history of BP, TB, Diabetic, Heart Atacks and so on, I feel and promote that, eat in moderate portions. Do exercise regularly. As long as you burn caleroies proportion to your intake, you will be healthy.

Margarine as it is less cholesterol, but less in taste too. Most margarines on the market nowdays arre 35% water. See labels.

Butter.
It is natural. Margarine is full of trans-fats. Pure garbage!

I'd rather have a dab of real butter than a whole tub of whipped oil--just my opinion, of course.
