The hatred is caused ny many factors.

1, the animalistic tendencies of the subconscious mind.

2. several religions have in their opinion "The word of God" and persecute those with other opinions.

3. and in my opinion the worst of the three is the news media "If it bleeds it leads" is telling the people the world is falling apart, and people believe that the world is falling apart, then people stop being civil to one another.

Fear and anxiety lead to hatred.

To get rid of hatred, you have to address the problems of poverty, disease, oppression, and injustice in the world.

I routinely feel anger that sometimes becomes hatred. It is almost always in situations where I am tired or feeling stress or fear.

I don't believe human beings are destined to hate each other (or themselves). I DO believe that some situations allow for the good in people to more likely be expressed, while other situations make hate much more likely to occur.

For many of us, that is where religious practice comes in. Jesus lived in a world of hate, oppression, and extreme violence (so did Gandhi and others). Yet through faith, he was able to love. We can do the same. Peace.

Salam.
In this new world where fame and fortune are more important than Love and happiness, the masses find their refuge in pointing out the bad in others. This negative approach to personal interation perpetuates through all levels of society and ultimately to the very top. Hate is rife in all segements of society, and unfortunately is based of greed and envy (as though the Prophets taught us nothing!).

It is called sin. Man sinned in the Garden of Eden and this has reproduced itself over and over again. Sin is the basis for everything wrong action: pride, selfishness, hatred, etc... Hatred exists where love does not!

People are afraid that they will lose out unless they try to gain advantage over others, by doing what they know to be wrong.

Follow the true goodness written on your heart, there is nothing to fear.

hatred in its smallest form is most likely fear
hatred in a bit larger form is most likely jealousy
bigger still might suggest envy, then covetousness
going bigger, then murder and complete evil
which brings one to playing god

all of this part of Satan's best laid plans

I think a lot of it has to do with ignorance and closed-mindedness and people's refusal to at least TRY to educate themselves and open themselves up to what they don't know or understand. A lot of people seem very comfortable in their ignorance.

Besides, it's a lot easier to hate someone than it is to say, research someone else's religion and get to know people of that particular religion and get first hand accounts as to where those people are coming from and what they are about.

There's way more to it than this, of course. This is just one of the things that always sticks out to me.
