How should I dress to go car shopping? Would the salesman give me a better deal if I looked great? Or would they give me a better deal if I just looked average? Should I look like I can afford it, or not?

Dress like you mean business. No frills - forget charm. Just the facts. I wander around the lot first and brush off the salespeople who don't approach me the way I appear. Want the calm business approach with someone who isn't over eager and too personal. Someone that takes their time and says they can offer me a deal whenever I am ready - not pushing today. I merely give my requirements and price range. Nothing too personal about my finances. Can ask about financing options but will not speak to their loan dept til I am actually ready to make the buy. If trading in - do not let them take your car to look it over. They'll hem & haw getting it back to you while they push the sale. Take your time and never buy the same day you fall in love with something. Wait a day and think it over. Just my advice. Good luck and enjoy the test rides.
