The windscreen wiper on my car are operating themselves without being switched on and won't turn off. It's happening sporadically but is really annoying and I'm worried about damage to the windscreen and wiper motors. Any ideas / similar experiences please? (discounting any ideas of it being possessed or having a gremlin on board)

I'm looking for a means of fixing it myself, rather than taking it to a garage.

I have a Seat Arosa (the cheap halfsister to the Lupo) and the rear wiper occasionally does a couple more wipes after I press it back in. Ask your question at www.clublupo.co.uk, you may get a better answer there.

I just heard this too, and tbh I am absolutely disgusted. I LOVED that advert, and I can't believe that people would complain! People ruin everything! To the largest extent the dog is Computer Generated, just like the one that sings. It is merely showing his lacking of confidence to sing while not being in the car...whats the harm in that?! They used a real animal for a small ammount of time, which was owned by one of the creators. Its not like the dog was having a fit or something... It's not cruel at all... ...People are so STOOPID!

Does it have a rain sensor ??? this will be a square or oval cut out near your rear view mirror. if so this is your problem as the gel packs are very sensitive. also check there is nothing stuck on your screen over the sensor causing your wipers to operate.

disconnect your wipers and go to a garage to get it fixed.
