She is 2 yrs old. The male is a little over a year and they really don't get along, She first layed 2 eggs then about 4 days later she layed 3, then about a week later she layed 2 more. She is sitting on them all day but I'm concern because she only comes out to eat 2 or 3 times a day and according to the books the male should be feeding her, but he is not. I think he is to young to notice. When she come out to eat he goes into the box to play with the eggs but doesn't sit on them. Is this normal behavor for the birds? And if they are not going to hatch when should I take the eggs out?

i work for a bird breeder and to check if there is anything in the egg, go into a really dark room with the egg and penlight or something similar. Then shine it through the egg. If you see something bigger that what should be the yolk, then it's fertile. wait like a week before you do this. The baby needs to grow without disturbance.

i'm sorry to show out the very obtrusive answer in this occasion. which you have needless to say desperate to already forget approximately approximately. Your chook is a female. no rely what you assert at right here won't replace the easy data. We theory our male cockatiel grew to become right into a female for a while, yet, as quickly as we at last did take her to the vet for DNA sexing, she grew to become out to be a he. if your chook is below a year previous, then she probable hasn't long undergone an entire molt, so she might seem to be male. As for the habit, I even have considered a lot of female Cockatiels that act only like men. actual, maximum folk of female Cockatiels dont act only like the boys, yet, some women human beings do want to Whistle, and supply kisses, which has been mentioned to be a male habit by using some chook proprietors. end of tale, your birds a female. in case you dont have faith me, take it on your vet for DNA sexing. optimistically, your vet might have the flexibility to persuade you.

the eggs are probably fertilized. just because you did not see them doing the "deed" does not mean they didn't. you really don't expect them to put a sign up telling you of their intentions. if the female was by herself, its unfertilized, but with a male present, there is a good chance that they are fertilized.

You should check it out with the vet to see if there is anything wrong with your cocktail or the eggs.
