but after studying (among other reasons) use this as one of the reasons they became atheists. Some have even been to seminary. My question is, why so many thousands of others who have attended good seminary's stay and still believe? Don't you think they'd be leaving in droves? Seminary is quite difficult and delves into theology, languages, history etc. You'd think they'd come up with a different truth.

Andy...I'm not trying to make a "valid point". Seminary provides much more than validating ones beliefs. If all were found to be false, I think the public would here more about it. Yet we don't. I'm truly not choosing sides.

Not well enough.

Knowing the Bible is one thing, knowing the author is another.

And if you went on the same sort of seminary concerning the Koran would you realise it was the truth? Just as many people do, so which one is the true word of god?

straightforward: there is not any means nor healing of the Holy Spirit. those issues exist only in the minds of the believers. perception in something isn't grounds to settle for its existence. With God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, there is not any data for their existence, for this reason no logical or rational reason to have faith. the only motives to have faith are emotionally based motives. A logical actuality could be universally shared; an emotional actuality can not. together as some human beings declare that having faith, alongside with Christianity, of their lives makes them greater valuable and happier human beings, others will declare that they sense greater valuable without such faith of their lives. Why then might desire to I settle for something that makes you satisfied yet could make me unhappy? isn't it approximately being satisfied, or has to replaced to being good, ultimately good? whether that's approximately being universally good or outstanding, the solutions you seek for could be found by using rational and logical skill quite than by using emotional skill. you're able to desire to be prepared to settle for solutions which you will unlike or believe with the intention to be intellectually uncomplicated. that's area of what separates technological information from faith. technological information accepts fault the place that's found and leaves room for correction. faith exerts that issues which do no longer make experience no longer quickly might desire to make experience because of the fact God won't have the ability to be incorrect. this thought is self-defeating and a very risky approach of behold. Take a step lower back and think of roughly it.

99% of people who attend seminary already have a firm conviction about their religion so it is unlikely that many would reject it so you haven't made a valid point.

well that's the eternal question isn't it? I think it's because there are two types of people in this world; those that can live a lie and not care about the details and those who can't.

Yes many atheists knows (about) the bible, & many sinners have read the bible completely, But when all said & done, They don't have a revelation about what is truth than a flea on a dog does.

Peace!
They deny the existence of God because they are afraid to accept the responsibilities of being a believer. There is no God, therefore, I am not responsible to anyone and I can live and die as I please. That's their mind set.

Because many are called but few are chosen.

You get out of the Bible what you put into it. If you go into with preconceived notions and agenda, that's what you're going to get out of it.
Go with an open mind and open heart, you may just find Jesus.
