My input on Limewire is the TRUTH and I will share this with you. About 3 months ago I subscribed to the lifetime membership for $34.99 and gave them a check online. My computer is a Gateway, which I've had sent in a few times direct to the repair place in Dallas, TX. When I tried to download Limewire, I couldn't do it because my computer only contains the "two pack" system on Windows XP.
Thankfully I didn't get charged the money from my checking account and have stuck with Ares file sharing. I wanted to get Limewire Because their were a few older songs I couldn't find on Ares.
Being a musician myself, even though I use Ares, I still think it is wrong not to pay for a song because the musician had to starve a while to write the song and I would suggest just doing it honestly, pay the piper for .99 cents and then you won't have to worry about viruses and other incoming threats.

well it is safe as any other kind of downloading software. whenever you download anything you are always taking a risk that you could be downloading something dangerous. the only protection against that is an anti-virus software that you use to scan your computer with often. ethical? well if you use the free version i guess its not. but i like to justify it with the fact that all the musicians get paid way too much money. and me downloading a few free songs isn't going to change that fact. i will still go to a concert and that is where they make a lot of their money as well. plus, if you download a song of an unknown musician - well that is how they get out there. so its up to you to make that call. if you are in doubt, just go ahead and the paid version.

With any P2P program you run the risk of virus infection. Best to keep your anti-virus and anti-spyware software up to date. Only you can determine whether what you do is ethical or not. Keep in mind that many files on Limewire are copyrighted and that it may be against the law in your area to download them.

My Dear Friend,

First of all, Limewire is Hard Spyware. It will demolish your entire computer system and throw all your personal information on share...I request you NOT TO USE LIMEWIRE AT ALL.If U have then Un-install NOW.

Better to use Bit-torrent software or more better buy a affordable CD/DVD.

Take care of your computer more...It will take care of you in coming days.

Expecting Success...Always.

I have discovered that Limewire is one of those sites that's just on the edge of being illegal, and there is the possibility of copy right infringement, so , to be on the safe side, I'd stay away from it. I know people who have allowed a virus in by going on that site. So, it's your call.

I think those people who use limewire will never go out and buy the thing if it isn't available on limewire.. so its no loss to the creator of the file anyway, is it?
moreover, its no threat to noone's life..

I like limewire but it has given my family viruses several times. My friends use it to download music onto their ipod but I can't even figure that out. Another thing is that when you search for 100% innocent things under video you sometimes end up with some nasty XXX videos. One of them has pretty much scarred me for life. Trust me it was gross.

Lime wire is of course a shareware program and it is just barely legal, i have been using lime wire for a year now and have never encountered any problems using lime wire at all, no viruses, Trojans, hacking files or low-fat candy bars. it is a great way to get software of any kind, music, muvees, games you name it. I would give it a shot if i were you and if you don't like it than u can just cancel your subscription

yea its sometimes safe as long as you are smart when you downlaod like if you download a song and the file size is like 20kb then its a virus because no song is only that size and yes i think its ethical cuz someone bought it didnt they:)
