You made an excellent point. Christians would certainly think Muslim women are oppressed, why? Because those women are not Christians;).....If a Christian does something is RIGHT if a Muslim does the same thing is wrong: that's their mentality my friend, as sad as it may sound;) Crusaders were ruthless murderes, and weren't any better than nowadays terrorists, but a very few Christians would admit that; Christian nuns cover their hair and according to Christians there's nothing wrong with that, but when it comes to a Muslim woman covering her head, then she's oppressed;) It's called 'Double Standard' and that's what Christians always use;)

I get frustrated with posts like that one because I am married to a Muslim man and living in his country. I see firsthand how many women here actually CHOOSE NOT to cover. It truly is a choice. I cover on occasion and my husband loves it, but he does not demand, or even ask, that I do it all the time. People here on Yahoo Answers tend to be very judgmental and don't like to learn the truth about other religions and cultures. If they did they would see the beauty in Islam, and they would find that the majority of Muslim women are highly respected and their husbands are devoted to their happiness.
To answer your question, would they think Mary was oppressed if she covered her hair? No, they would simply find a way to justify it.

I dont quite see the Virgin Mary as absolutely everyone out of the oridnary, yet i do agree that each and every physique females could be respected afterall if we did no longer have females there could be no human existance. females are between the main sacred areas of our existance, if no longer the main severe area. a individual shouldnt could sense the might desire to teach off what they have in hopes of catching someones interest, if a individual is inconspicuous and exhibits whats on the interior the outdoors shouldnt rely. as long as each and every physique isn't forced into wearing something to disguise who they're or to teach off a undeniable area of them then its superb. A Hijab isn't immoral, oppression or something that hides the reality that the guy in the back of it remains a individual and a female. The Hijab is a cultural ingredient and prefer way of existence they're issues that is chosen to be worn or no longer. I carry females in very severe regard if no longer the utmost regard. Being a female on my own is worth of large admire, being a mom, spouse, or despite is worth of even greater effective admire.
