If u get damp leads the engine wont run right or even start. What to do is use a hairdryer on the leads and this will take out the damp and should cure the prob, the distributor is easy to find, follow ur leads from ur spark plugs and u will come to an end which is the distributer, ,it may be situated AT THE BACK OF THE engine. sprtay some damp start over the leads to stop damp getting in to them.

Follow the wires from the spark plugs and keep going to the other end of these high tension wires. On the end there will be another four sockets. The housing of these sockets is the distributor. Generally all distributors are covered with a plastic cover.

First of all the Ka doesnt have a distributor its what e call a Distributorless ignition system. they have changed that system and use what we call a coil pack. If you want to find the coil pack depending on the age of the ka its usally located behind the cylinder head on the right hand side. if you need to change it i suggest you do it from underneath (much easier and you can see what you are doing) they are held in by Torx screws (4 of them)

Follow leads from spark plugs and you will find distributor. You could have a bad plug.Use insulated pair of pliers and pull lead off each plug in turn with engine running.Engine tone will change if plug is ok.When you reach bad plug engine will be as you say .Also possible bad ht lead from distributor to plug.

The Ka uses a distributorless ignition system. The coils are charged by an electronic module and a crank position sensor. If you find the plugs, and trace the wires back, all you'll find is a coil pack.

I think your garage is having you on, you have electronic ignition. There is no distributor really as it's controlled by a computer, i think it would be best if you took it to another garage. one that knows what their doing, if your not mechanical minded don't mess with it as you could be in for a nasty shock literary
