Are you serious?! That is just totally unfair! It really sucks that they don't let kids pray anymore in school, but then to let some religions do it and not others????? That's just not right! Where is this at?

Absolutely it should! Freedom of religion is a basic right and shouldn't be stripped when anyone walks through the doors of a school. Simply having a moment of silence before school starts for prayer/meditation or whatever would be fantastic. The reason that the courts do not allow this? Literally, that the fact that a child COULD pray during this time disqualifies it. That is so wrong! By the way, I'm a fundie Christian. Didn't want to lose that banner and actually have people like me :)

Take it up with your school. The problem is Muslims have to pray at certain times of the day, so unless you can convince the school that you are really into vespers, you could have a difficult battle getting a Christian praying room. The school probably figures Christians can just pray when they get home. It's ridiculous, and you should say something.

as christian we are taught to turn the other cheek and to respect others beliefs and now we are meek and as i see it . but we as individauls have freedom of religion and the right of free speech
the school cant participate in our actions they cant stop us from praying when we want or expressing our beliefs and if people start to complain the school will get u some place out of sight But id rather be seen than hid away to the side hoping no one will notice

I understand. the reason that is is because they didn't;t like that we said the pledge and everything. and the Christians didn't have a problem. I think it is unfair. You can't even talk about the bible in Columbus Ohio
