It's a medical condition effecting your brain and doesn't necessarily ahve anything to do with the quality of your life-though stress can worsen depression. It's like asking why di we get cancer though we don't smoke--they aren't necessarily linked.

The reality of man is spiritual, not material. So even thou we may have all the material comfort in the world, our spirit is not satisfied until we find the purpose of our life on earth.
Getting depressed is an alarm mechanism of our spirit that warns us that we must find this purpose. No amount of Valium or any other kind of medication can help us unless we find the reason for our existence.
A good example is to look at the activities of the richest man on earth, Bill Gates. We can see that despite all his riches he is engaged in specific activities that give a real meaning to his life. This is not to deny that his work activity as owner of a giant software company is not highly important too.

isn't it amazing that we are aware enough to know that and have time to think about it :) and the universe wont collapse for sure science is not 100% on that many believe it will expand forever it's difficult to know for sure with our limited understanding of how things work out there. even Einstien had 2 different theories on that one would collapse the other would go on forever there no way to know for sure. live like today is your last, dream like you will live forever. -James Dean.

Same ole stuff every day ? Can't have something your way ? No, don't think so. It is because you have something to do that you THINK is impossible at this time.
