I won't be using a cable box, won't be using an antenna. I want to stick the cable from the wall into the back of the tv and it show the 70 or so channels my cable company offers as standard cable. Which term should I be looking for on the specs for a tv, NTSC or ATSC?

NTSC is National Television Standard Committee and it is the standard for analog TV transmission in the US, Canada, and parts of southeast Asia. ATSC is Advanced Television Standard Committee and it is the standard for digital TV transmission in the US, Canada, Mexico, and parts of southeast Asia. If your TV is ATSC compliant and you are planning to use it in a country that adhers to ATSC stanards you should be able to plug your cable directly into the TV and view all the channels without the use of a cable box.
