I was told not to include the wedding registry in the invitations. Is this true? Also, do you include hotel information and directions in with the invitation? Please help as I am beginning to design and start on the invites. Thanks!

I think typically it is in very poor taste for a bride to send her registry info on her own. Most people will have your registry info from your shower. Give that info to whomever is planning your shower, or to your maid/matron of honor to get out to people. If you are not having a shower, have her send them seperatly with a nice note to your guests. Do not include them in your invitation, though I have always gotten directions, and hotel info with the invitation. I have never recieved registry info with a wedding invite, or from a bride. Congrats on your wedding!

A lot of people do include registry information, but you really shouldn't. The best thing to do is not include it, and when people call to RSVP they will ask where you are registered if they want to know.

For the hotel info and directions, I would put that on a separate page and put it with the invitation, but not on the invitation itself.

Yes, in proper wedding etiquette you're not supposed to include your wedding registry information in the invitations because it implies that you are asking for a gift. Instead, have your family, bridesmaids, bridesgrooms and friends spread the word.

As for the hotel information and directions, you usually include them with the invitations as separate inserts. For instance, for my wedding, we had the formal invitations and RSVP cards printed, but did the hotel information and directions ourselves using a laser printer on nice card stock that matched the invitations.

Congratulations on your wedding, and good luck!

I've also heard you should not put registry information in the invites. Let it be passed around by word of mouth and you could put the registry information on an internet site (like http://www.theknot.com ).

You could put hotel and direction information in the invites.

You do not include registry info. People who want that will contact your family. You can include hotel info and directions.
