I've been selling seafood in a supermarket for about 5months and whenever I handle prawns my hands start to have a slight itch.

Is this normal with prawns or could I be slightly allergic to prawns?
I don't eat seafood so I've never eaten a prawn so I have no idea what that would do to me.
maybe I'm in the wrong business.

In response to TONY B

we don't actually go around picking up handfuls of prawns with our bare hands.
When i'm getting prawns out for a customer i normally have my hand in the plastic bag, grab a large handfull and then turn the bag inside out and then use tongs to get anymore needed prawns, but sometimes i still come in contact with prawns.

I would wear gloves all the time but we are always switching between cooked and raw food and would use 100s of gloves a day.

I love prawns,go to your doctor for a check up as it sounds like a allergy.
