He is a 1 year old tibetian terrier cross poodle, who we have had for about 6 months. He was picked up off the streets so we have no history for him. He was allready house trained when we got him, but when I have to go out he almost allways poops. He is never left alone - he allways has at least one of our other dogs left with him (we have 3 in total) and he is put out, and supervised until he poops before I go out and it doesn't seem to make much difference. I think it is an anxiety thing, but I don't know how to stop him doing it. It's not a problem we have had with any of our other dogs.
We don't tell him off as he won't connect the row with the pooping so there is no point, and he allways gets praised when he goes outside.
Any suggestions?

i have a one year old border collie who used to do exactly the same thing. the problem could be that your leaving him too long or that you are fussing him too much when you leave.when you leave the house dogs dont know if your ever going to come back so try ignoring him when you go out so that he doesnt feel like you going forever, come back in after two mins and praise him. continue doing this and make the gaps longer through time after about two weeks your house will be poop free and you will be able to get back in to your normal routne.REMEMBER: you would never leave a 1 year old child alone so you should NEVER leave you dog for more than a couple of hours

where is he in the pecking order? If he is low down and being left with the other dogs, he may be getting bullied and pooping in fear. How long is he being left for? If all day then you can expect poop. It could be just stress related. Perhaps worth getting a vet to check for infections or getting a recommendation to see a phychologist?

Maybe you could get a cardboard tray and fill it with sand. (Litter tray) You could put a toy by it. If your dog loves his food put the food by it. It depends on how your dog is. He might like a certain smell. Maybe the smell of you!
Or you could treat him even more.
Make a trail of treats towards outside.
All these little things work towards it's problem. He will learn in the end!

Why not call the vet.Maybe they can help. Maybe get a cage for him. Put him in it when you go out,he may not poop then.Usually they have their own area for that.

You can get dog flaps I know it sounds ridiculous but u can find them at your local pet shop. If you get one slightly bigger than your dog it shouldn't ever have to 'poop' in the house again.
