There could be many reasons why, did you have traumatic childhood where there was alot of chaos?

Sometimes when there is upheaval or trauma in our lives , we selectively lose those memories as a defense mechanism to keep ourselves together.

Then again it could be you're just not focussing on what's going on around you .

You need to remember that there are lots of wonderful memories you're about to make in the world, keep a diary of your days, no matter how boring it sounds to you now, ten, twenty years from now you'll look back and go omg I'd forgotten that or why did that matter so much to me.

Take family photos and scrapbook them, believe me when you no longer have family around you it will bring back alot of warm cherished memories.

You choose what you want to remember and what you want to forget, it's up to you.

Pretty normal. You probably had a very uneventful life up to this point, in which you spent most of it watching tv, reading or just "in your head". Keep a journal, with the goal of living a life worth reading.

sometimes when bad things happen our minds put a block up on that memory. sometimes you can only remember bits and pieces and sometimes you don't remember it at all.there are many years that i don't remember growing due to my childhood.the best thing to do is to find someone you trust and start opening up to them about things that you do remember.the things you have "forgotten" may come back. if not i would see if there is a psychiatrist that may be able to help you in unlocking these memories.
