I'd write to the manufacturer and send the packet and d. pin and ask what are they going to do about it before you go public?

Don't forget to send recorded so you know they have received it.

Send it with the original packet to the manufacturer with a letter of complaint. You are almost guaranteed to get some kind of freebie. I love to do things like this, and have been very successful in getting job lots of the product I moaned about. I've whinged about kids fruit bars being too short for the packets etc and have been sent boxes of replacements and apologies. I have never found a drawing pin in anything though and this is obviously potentially lethal. It wouldn't surprise me if they withdrew the product from the shelves for a while. Good luck..

Eat it and throw the crisps (or chips for our yank cousins) away! After all the drawing pin (thumb tack translated to yank) will probably be better for you. P/S why do yanks come on here if they cant read the English language? they could at least try like the rest of our colonial friends........

First of all, take a photo and call your local trading standards office and get them to come around and verify it. Then call a newspaper and get your story in there. Only then should you contact the manufacturer for compensation.

Whatever you do, don't call them first and let them take your evidence. Then you'll have no come-back for compensation.

Hang onto them as proof, don't send them to the manufacturer as they might wiggle out of their responsibility. Contact your local press and ask them for advice.

Call customer service to report it. Be sure to have the lot or product number handy.
