Fat is contained in fat cells. When you lose fat, your body takes the fat from that cell and uses it for energy. As a result, it shrinks the cell, kind of like a small balloon that looses its air. The cell stays there deflated and if you eat more than you need, it will fill up again. once your body makes the fat cells they do not disappear. The only way to get rid of unused cells is through lipo suction (which is a dangerous procedure). Hope this helps.

It goes to the same place that petrol goes when you run a car and where electricity goes when you use it - it is converted into energy. When people say "food is fuel" they are very close to the truth. You convert that fuel into various things your body needs, like blood, sweat and tears, and anything it doesn't need, it stores as fuel, in case there is a world wide chocolate famine. Or worse still, you go on a diet.

So that fat is spare food your body carries around all the time, just in case you go to the gym or run a marathon. This is the sort of thing Einstein was banging on about when he said E=mc(squared) He was quite thin, Einstein.

I think you burn it off. If you work out and create sweat and heat that is the fat burning off. A little like an engine making smoke.

This question makes me think about planting a teeny tiny seed.
How in the world does it become a big plant?

This is the case of something becoming nothing or nothing becoming something.

all fat is, is stored energy. So the form of the energy changes when you lose weight, it changes into kinetic energy (motion), or heat energy that you give off or is used as energy to make your body function

yeah 2 miles on an empty stomach is perfect.....you will shed fat very fast, even at 18 total minutes....it dosent matter how long you run, 2 miles is 2 miles, and you are running it at a good pace.....try not eating atleast 1 hour after you run for better results.....a protein shake would be good though...
