Peace!
We consider ourselves above other religions simply because it is the only Church that was founded by Jesus Christ himself. No other religion in the world can make the same claim.
It was founded by Jesus Christ around 36 AD. Why? To bring the good news of salvation to the whole world.
The Catholic Church is against the rearing of a child by couples of the same sex because it is not normal. Ideally, a child should be raised by a mother and father.
God bless

Let's see if I can answer these

1 forgive me if i am worng and for my oipinions but why does the cahtolic chruch see itself as so improtant and i dare say above other denominations
All churches do this, not just the Catholic church. However, Catholic was the first Christian church. The Protestants broke away from the Catholic church in a disagreement over the doctrines. From there, it split even more. Each church likes to think that they are right and thus, they have the favor of God. There is only one way to find out who's right, and we'll just have to wait for that day to happen.

2 when was it founded and why
The Catholic church was founded in the ministry and teachings of Jesus through the apostles after his death. Jesus was the messiah that was foretold and his message was of God. Originally, Christianity could be seen as just an offshoot of Judaism, but it developed it's own culture, making it it's own religion. It brings a message of peace and love through the teaching of Jesus the Christ.

3. how is the cahtolic church so succesful at adopting problem children and should they be excluded fro mteh new laws. in my opinion selction should be based on who can look after the child best even if that is a same sex couple or a single parent. not the teachings of the church
Even though I'm not supposed to, I sorta agree with you. So many kids need homes that I think who ever can take care of them should. I also think America needs to make her adoption policies a bit easier so people aren't leaving our kids behind and just adopting from other countries.

1. I think every church will see it self as important otherwise they wont exist, right?
But I dont think that the catholic church see itself as so important and dare say above other denominations.

The truth is Catholic church is founded by Christ himself, with St. Peter as the leader, as Prince of the apostle. The church founded on the day of the pantecost, and along the years come, it formed to a better structure. To help people live in their faith. The leader should always the successor of Peter.
Until the reformation of Martin Luther around year 1500, there are no other denominations, which mean, every Christ's followers were catholics.
And the leadership of Peter passed down to its successor through all the century to Pope Benedict XVI (now)

Why?
the role of the church is to guide its people in living the faith.. God himself, with His grace, know that people ONLY can walk with HIs Grace. Thats why He founded His church, and through it sanctify and give its grace. The people in the church are sinners, but the grace of God in its church sanctify and help us to walk towards His will.Through all instruments in His Church, God help people to see, how to live the faith according the change and challenges in the world.

Everybody can read the bible for himself, but to interpret it to become a universal teaching can not be done by anybody. Otherwise it can be interpreted differently by anybody, and only will leads to found another new denomination that share a same opinion.

People need assurance, that they got a teaching that is truth and free from error. And I think only the catholic church has the capability to say, that her teaching contain the fullness of truth.
Because Christ himself gave this assurance. I dont remember the verse in the bible, but it is there..;)
Only the catholic church not to compromise its teaching with the common trends or lifestyle of the world. BUt its purpose only to proclaim the truth.

I have no opinion on question no.3. I think when someone want to adopt, the first concern must be for the baby adopted. They have the right to be raised in a good environment, that are not drive their live based on pleasure fulfilment. It need more than that to raise a responsible child. i'm sorry if I'm wrong...;(

The Roman Catholic Church is above all denominations because to say it bluntly, It is. It is the church founded by Jesus Christ and the other denominations may rant and rave about it but it is not going to change an historical fact. You may consult an unbiased historian about this if you think I am biased. Obedience is a virtue, not rebellion and thus Catholics obey the sacred teachings of the Church as handed down by the apostles and other teachings be it on adoption or any other matter.

It might seem they are important because they have a long long line of important. When the pope speaks everyone listens because everyone will see him on tv, he is a celebrity of sorts. They claim to be the church that Jesus started and even have the line to prove it, along with the Orthodox. And from what i've saw they will not change for the times as you are asking them too, which is a good thing.
