If you go to the doctor you will end up with an expensive chemical based prescription treatment to remove the acne. It's more affordable, and healthier for your skin, to use a more natural approach. Tea Tree Oil, also known as Melaleuca Oil can help. Witch Hazel is good as well. The best way to use these products is to find a product that already contains them.

I have a friend who depends on the Zap-It! pack. It's all natural and only 15.99 for a month supply. This pack includes your Facial Wash, Astringent, Treatment Cream, and a Zap It Quick Stick (good for on-the-go spot treatment). The best thing about Zap-It! is all the products are natural and include the Tea Tree oil and Witch Hazel.

If you need help finding Zap-It! e-mail me.

Treatments depend on your skin type! what works for one, doesn't work always work for the other. I have fair sensitive dry acne prone skin. I can tell ya what worked for me - acne free from walmart did for a while but the proactive made it much worse even though I used the whole bottle and did everything I was supposed to. PAN-OXL bar found at drug stores or walmart worked well and clean&clear in the purple bottles esp. the invisible blemsish treatment. Nothing works on me for long. Right now, and for the longest running treatment used, I use Irish spring to wash. My skin has been real clear for months! I use oil of olay complete for sensitive skin to moisturize. Drs recommend that one, it has less/no pore clogging crap in it. The best treatment for me has always been - TANNING! It clears it up sooo fast, prevents future breakouts, evens the skin tone, covers up blemishs, and allows me to go without makeup. oh, and makeup. If you must wear it, I have to tell you, please don't buy it from the drug store! If you must, then I'd get Everfresh by Maybeline. when I had to get the drug store kind, I actually took the time to read EVERY foundation bottle's label. Everfresh was the only one that had all the qualities we need. The label MUST say - non comedogenic, non pore clogging, oil free, & spf 15. Don't bother with the makeup for the acne prone, like neutrogenia or covergirl, they irritate!!! they have salicylic acid in it that makes you red, not covered up, like you were going for. I found what works best for me is Prescriptives, found at the dept store. It costs more but to me it's worth it. Makeup is often a cause of bad acne. I don't care about the rest of my makeup all that much, but the foundation has to be quaility. If I use crap, my skin looks like crap. prescriptives matches it to your tone and color, so you don't have to worry about picking the right color or having a mask! I love it. Well girl, good luck. I hope something I said helps. This is a miserable experience.

You can get some cream of the doctor, it drys your skin at first but it fantastic stuff.
If you want a quick fix, say for a night out or something!
If you get some haemorrhoid cream and put it on your spots in the morning, this is a temporary fix for say just a night!! ... It shrinks the spots down, just like it would the piles on ya butt. It really does work, obviously the embarressing thing is asking for it at the chemist! Top models actually do this when they have a shoot and wake up with a zit from hell.

Good luck

I can tell you what not to use, from my experience. That Wal*Mart knock off of Pro-active, it's called Acne-Free. Does not work. I've been using a foam cleanser that you can buy from Sally Beauty Supply. A B H, i think is what it's called. I use witch hazel as an astringent, and my face has been looking its best, and very important...use an oil free lotion daily.

I suggest using Netrogina. It works on my face and keeps it clear. Use 2 of their products. The first one is blackhead control and the second is Deep clean. Don't go to drastic measures and try the pro active cause it doesn't work very well.

Ti tree oil, daily (don't know how much or what strength - try a little, diluted in alcohol first to check your skin's reaction).
