Saw some interesting ones just now about certain 'areas' in the middle east, which I thought to be fair and open queries.......... and yet they were removed in nanoseconds ?????????

What gives with free thinking on here ?. Perhaps Yahoo answers is trying to emulate religion where anyhting outside a doctrine is obliterated from th eknowledge base ?.

Not impressed at all

No, because I thought the entire point of this forum was to allow for open dialogue between those of differing viewpoints.

that is not any longer a communicate web site, one person asks a question, yet another solutions. that's the equipment. Yahoo have little administration over the questions that are published so it is your fellow shoppers who've been clicking the record button. while criticizing a team, you're able to desire to video reveal that in case you tick them off you will be suggested as being offensive. You suggested " I asked an undemanding question, why have been those weapons no longer used against Israel those days, if those exist ? I recognize that Hamas have crude usually abode-made rockets, yet different, state-of-the-paintings weapons ?" You of course have not seen the massively more desirable floor to floor missles that have far greater beneficial stages than the "crude hand-crafted jobs". CNN did an remarkable record on those tunnels that are used, and although no longer very enormous in diametre they are fairly nicely made with winches and trolleys that may carry important lots. Freedom of Speech. You gave up the suited to unfastened speech once you agreed to abide via the community rules and words of provider once you signed on. “He who cracks the whip makes the regulations“, and for this reason that is Yahoo.

I don't know how a question can rock the boat.
It is the additional comments which are often no more than a diatribe on your point of view, making the question unimportant.

Like one recently about Adam and Even and it was really a statement about a belief in reincarnation, which had nothing to do with Adam and Eve.

Also, the additional comments are often nothing but snide comments about other belief systems.

When it is obvious the question is a sham, it should be removed.

I don't have a clue how Y/A can police so many questions a minute.

It is obvious that most of the posters know how to use the system to keep their questions open.
If you look at the reasons for reporting, few violate it technically.

Having looked and read the question and read all the answers that's good for me, because I can not interrupt any one. wearer as in face to face, when some one is speaking to me, lights bells and whistles go off in my brain and I don't say some thing at the time, by the time the person who is speaking to me is finished, I have for gotten what I was going to say. Then there are people who use big words, which mean nothing to me because they are not part of my every day words. Which means they go right over the top of my head, unless I spend a lot of time with my dictionary. Now that's a big book. the one I have is. Word Power from reader's digest. that means a long time to look up a word and a long time to understand it. because I'm so slow, it dos not leave much time for any thing El's. even this that I have typed with one finger has taken a long time. and in that time the e-mail flashing distracted me. its a hard life for some of us on hear but worth it if it helps one learn. now for the spelling check. yours in J. I do believe in freedom of speech, however Yahoo has a responsibility to its younger and more easily influenced members. If someone is posting indecent responses then Yahoo must act. I've seen a lot of posts removed where the content could be construed as inciting racial hatred. Yahoo is right to remove such content because if it doesn't, it will actually be breaking the law.

The Internet can be seen as a way into the minds of millions of people who have access to the Internet and any Q&A such as this will show what people are thinking.

With that having been said, The CONTROL over an IDEA or IDEA'S or OPINIONS must be controlled to reduce any IDEA of FREE THINKING.

In other words, anybody or anyone who opposes the current IDEA (what ever that Ideology might be) lending itself to FREE WILL THINKING is "rocking the boat!"

It is the opinion of this writer that we are being groomed gradually into (what ever that Ideology might be) to stop FREE WILL THINKING and adhere only to that IDEOLOGY.

I am sorry to hear that happened. I also enjoy some of the interesting thinking. They allow us to discuss different viewpoints and allow an open dialog. I do not want the younger people to have to hear some of the adult themed language though. There are still a number of young ears on this site. Have a great day.

Yes I have noticed this. There was a question last week that I wanted to answer, but it was removed before I had a chance to reply. The question seemed innocent enough, but concerned religion and God. On the other hand the most explicit sex questions seem to pass them by. I think we have freedom of speech up to a point!

It's not yahoo as such but a lot of small minded people on this site that do not want to see an open debate for some hidden reason. i can't spell it out more clearly because i will get yet another violation notice

I think Yahoo answers should allow for open discussion, but it should definitely remove aggressive racist comments and it should most definitely have a language filter.

Perhaps it should also have an age censor, so younger members can't access more adult topics?
