Make sure you brush your teeth 5 minutes for 3 times everyday. Or else your teeth will look really bad!

If I were you, I would buy some oatmeal, yogurt, and other soft foods. Also, eat as much as you can today before you go, you are gonna starve in the next week.
It will be ok, the whole process of putting them on is not really such a big deal and it doesn't hurt right afterwards.. it takes time until the pain comes. At first it feels awful and you think you will not be able to stand it, but after 1 or 2 weeks it feels completely normal.

They day I got mine I ate pizza! (As well as the day I got them off!). Best advice is to keep tylenol or advil on hand as the tightning of the braces monthly was the worst part. The pain (more like pressure--kind of like a severe sinus headache) only last for a few days but can be intense. The other major advise that I can recommend is never to leave home without orthadonic wax!! After your teeth move it will cause slack in the wires (usually in the back of the mouth) leaving sharp ends on the wires. The wax really helps and i never left home without it! Good luck and trust me it was well worth it!!

Dont worry, my sister had braces when she was, like 12 and got them taken off at 14. She said it didnt hurt a lot except the part where they kinda twist the rackets tightky with scissors.

Follow the advice that the orthodontist gave you! That is make sure you clean your teeth well and frequently, go for regular check-ups with your usual dentist, avoid sweets as much as possible, especially sticky, or hard sweets such as chocolate and toffees. Also be prepared for some pain and discomfort after having them fitted and each time they are tightened!

Take some Tylenol before you go, seemed to help my son when he got his.
