Why is that people, mostly in the States and other developed countries don't value marriages at all. Either they marry this week and divorce the next or they just move in with their partners and move out when things turn sour.

They do this because it is too easy nowadays to get a divorce. They need to make it very difficult to divorce, then maybe they'd think twice before tying the knot.

because its so easy now to walk away from a marriage, even with kids. (I have kids and Iam divorced). I was married and my then husband was a cheating **** hole along with many other faults!! Im glad I was able to leave that chapter in my life but yes too many people do not value marriage and long term relationships, so less people do it; which in tern makes those people in relationships/marriage feel they are missing out on some great social life!! basically its modern day society that sucks!! x

I think it's because now these days people weren't raised to be good. Kids cuss at around 4, they scream in classrooms, they purposely disrupt anything, they try to get their own way and they do the freak dance during middle and high school years. The reason why I know this is because I'm 14 and I was treated pretty badly in middle school. Now in high, kids are ok... there are still those retards here but it's a lot better than middle school.

IMO generally it's because values have changed over the years. The "norm" would be to get married, have kids etc. Women had no choice but to put up with their men's behaviour ie cheating, violence etc (and vice versa). These days there is no "norm" and people won't put up with the kind of behaviour in marriage that they did previously.

Marraige has be re-defined. They used to last so long because wives would overlook all the crap that the husbands dished out. Now that we are working and making our own decisions about our lives, wewill not settle for the traditional veiw of marraige.
