I have been here 3 months now (Sydney). My Mum has been telling me about the programme you are talking about. She thinks that the people who are in the programme are not actually that keen to emigrate and are just after a free holiday. Regardless of this, emigration is a personal life choice. Its not perfect here in Australia; there are still the same issues as in the UK, high house prices in some parts, its also quite near recession here too, terrorism fears, crime, racism etc. But the lifestyle is certainly better as there is more choice and its a much more relaxed lifestyle (work to live rather than live to work).

I wouldn't let this programme put you off. Its scary emigrating, but exciting at the same time.

I came to Australia from the UK 43 years ago and have never regretted it. It is a great country. I went back to the UK some years ago for a long holiday and hated it. I couldn't wait to get back home to Australia.
