I need to define what is meant by the radius of curvature of a beam. IE a cantilever beam when a load is applied & the beam deflects. please give websites or any other info that may be useful.

The radius of curvature is the distance from the center of curvature to the beam. This is explained in Chapter 5, p. 252 of "Mechanics of Materials", 3rd Ed. by Gere and Timoshenko.
