In Washington State, and possibly elsewhere, there is a cut-off selling time at 2 AM for alcohol. I am unsure why this is. I work graveyard and find myself on my days off desiring a nice cold beer under moonlight and even sunrise with my lunch or dinner. So why am I not allowed to buy beer (if I haven't any in my fridge already) at a certain window of time? It seems only to rouse anger and frustration.

Any clues to justify this law?

This falls under the licensing laws. A license to sell alcohol which covers BAR, STORES, RESTAURANTS are all the same. Just different locations. As such the licenses EXPIRE at 2am. So between the hours of 2am until 8am (11am on Sundays) NO alcohol can be sold. Hope I helped you out here. Hours may vary depending on what state you're from.

Here we see some prophetic Words from the Lord… Proverbs 2:5 “Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.” We should reverence the Lord …be devoted to Him …all knowledge comes from Him Romans 10:17: 17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Ephesians 1:17: 17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: Proverbs 2:21 “For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.” Proverbs 2:22 “But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.” Jeremiah. 6:16 16Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Psalm 37:9-11 9For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. 10For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. 11But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. Matthew 5:5 5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 3:10: 10And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire

It just depends on the state. As the earlier answer states, it's midnight in Texas, 1AM on Saturdays. Liquor stores in Texas have to close every evening at 9PM, and are closed on Sundays'. Grocery stores and convenience stores can't sell beer until noon on Sundays.

And, yes, there are many dry counties in Texas. One of the adjacent counties to mine is dry, and the surrounding counties are not. That explains why there are liquor stores out in the middle of nowhere on the county line.

It just depends on your state really, and the laws governing alcohol and its sell. I was stationed in California, and they sold liquor in the grocery stores out there. In Texas, that will never happen. Just depends on where you live.
