As for the high tech part , it is the US Armed Forces hands down. But all that technology just means there are more things that can go wrong . An F16 with faulty avionics is nothing more than a very expensive paperweight.
There are large militaries , India for example, but they lack the ability to move and support significant forces in the field outside of their home region.Currently , the US is the only power that can deply and support a significant amount of troops on a global scale .

It all depends on what you consider 'power'. The US military still has the ability to kill every living creature on earth (except those damn cockroaches) with our Nuclear arsenal, but is that real power? The current geo-political landscape makes nuclear weapons almost obsolete, since no one is willing to use them. Also, current military structure & strategies are ill-equipped to handle the current nature of battle- namely guerrilla warfare, and insurgents willing to fight from within the innocent civilian population. If you are asking in the traditional sense of "My army could beat up your army", then yes, the US military is still the worlds most powerful fighting force.
Many countires though would cause significant trouble and difficulty in battle. China, for instance, has a rapidly modernizing military, with massive troop numbers. If we fight with them over Taiwan, the safe bet is on them winning, for many reasons. A couple of the reasons we could lose are the inability to throw our entire military at one part of the world (they have home field advantage and we have commitments elsewhere to maintain), and the communists CAN NOT afford to lose a battle over Taiwain. If they were to lose, it could potentially destabilize their power-base, which would allow the significant pro-democracy under-currents to topple them. China has many of the higher-ups in the US Military very concerned when looking at the future.
The only complete answer that can be given is that 'power' is subjective, and the fighting force most prepared for a particular type of fighting will win in that particular type of battle.

No doubt, the US. In a conventional war, the US could roll over almost any military on Earth.
