i've had flu...its horrendous..so i do feel for your child. however..just think - she/he needs you..even if you are tired because they are so ill. calpol reduces temperature..which is the thing that makes you so unwell...just think - as soon as they are recovered..you can rest more - but until then you just have to soldier on...good luck!

It might help to give her a warm bath with a small amount of lavender oil in it. Then put her in a clean nightie and in a clean freshly made bed. When you are poorly it is all ways nice to be clean and fresh even if you are a child. Don't cuddle to much as she will already be hot and bothered. lay her down and sponge her head with a cool flannel. some soothing music played very soft might also help her. i assume you also have medication from the doctor, if not call him.

Get a plug in for the bedroom - it worked wonders for my daughter - I am sorry I can't remember the name but I picked it up from the shelf at my local supermarket with all the other cold and flu medicines - I checked with the pharmacist and she said it was perfectly safe to use (my daughter was only 14 months at the time)

EDIT:

I just checked online and it was Sudacare plug in

i gave my son a cold and cough medicine together with 5mls of calpol (doctors advice), he went through the night until about 5am, but its a start right? Also buy a vapouriser for her room, they can be pricey but they last 3 nights and help a blocked nose, and lastly give a warm bath before bed to help loosen any catarrh on her chest. keep her room warm not hot and when shes out of there keep the windows open to let out all the germs and air her bedding xxx

tylenol cold for children, warm bath, a good book. maybe some soft music. rock her. make sure she is getting plenty of fluids. a humidifier (walmart) always helps, too. if you can, take a nap during the day to help catch up on sleep. good luck!

Children who have the flu tend to me fussier. Just tend to her and pay her extra attention. I suggest if you want to gain your sleep while she's not feeling well, lay down w/ her in bed until she falls asleep. I always to that to my son and then sneak away. =) I get my sleep, and maybe you will to.
