Rhode Island Red chickens lay brown eggs. There is an Andalusian minature that lays blue eggs. The breed of chicken determines the color of eggs. The hens that lay brown eggs are larger birds and eat more (1/2 their weight every day)so for economy most eggs on the market are white. There is no nutritional difference. About the only difference is that you can not candle(look inside with a light) to see if the eggs ave blood spots as well with brown eggs. The taste and color of yolk is dependent on the feed of the chicken.

Each breed will lay a particular colour egg brown, white or even green. I read somewhere that the cheek colour can tell if it will be a light colour i.e. white cheeks = white eggs.
