You'll never find a reputable doctor to preform a surgery you don't need. If you've been successfully following a healthy diet and exercise plan to lose weight it is natural to plateau. This happens because as you've become stronger, you need to step up the type of exercises you do, for it to be effective. For example: if you've walked 2 miles a day for 4 months and lost weight, you've also strengthened your muscles. Your newly strong muscles can now easily carry you 2 miles, so you don't burn as much calories as you did when the walk was difficult. You then need to walk farther, or faster, to get the same benefits.

Forget the quick fixes. Stick to a healthy diet and bump up on the exercise.

I'm going to answer your question objectively, and not necessarily how you'd want me to answer it. I don't think you'll find a doctor (in the United States, at least) that will do lap band if you're only 55 pounds overweight. And that's even if you suffer from some sort of co-morbidities such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or sleep apnea. Being 55lb overweight aint all that much of a big deal - and I'm really curious as to why you aren't able to drop any of that weight. Look, what I'd recommend is go see your doctor, and get some blood work done. Have them analyze your hormone levels and thyroid activity. The key thing is to isolate the reason why you're failing to lose the weight. If you can solve that part of the equation, then maybe you can reach your goal without surgery.

Weight loss surgery-like gastric bypass /lap band surgery / stomach stapling and gastrectomy have become very common and very safe now. My cousin got her Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery in India. She has lost more than 65 lbs in 5 months and is very happy with the results. The price for obesity surgery is very less in India. My cousin just paid 25% of the cost she was quoted in America. She got her surgery from a company called Forerunners Healthcare.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as bariatric surgery and weight loss surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your Obesity surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

Keep this meal between 400 and 800 calories. Serve yourself a more compact portion, so if you like coming back again for seconds, you'll just find yourself eating a normal-size portion.

Add veggies to baked products. You'll never even taste your zucchini in these brownies as well as the sweet potato in these kind of cookies.

Keep a small water glass, which you ought to refill often, instead of a big water bottle on your table.
