Just like yourself, I'm sure that when you get overly tired you can become cranky, irritable and so on. We tend to take sleep for granted, it is such an important part of our daily cycles to keep us going, reved up as well as sane. It has been proven that if a person goes without sleep for an extended period of time they can have a mental breakdown. Without the proper amount of sleep your body needs your glucose levels can rise or fall, concentration can become difficult, patience level low.
Sleep deprivation can cause one to be at a higher risk for accidents. You didn't say how old you daughter is but anyone who drives and is not getting the proper amount of sleep are in more crashes than those who do get a good amount of sleep.
At least once a week, more than one-quarter (28%) of high school students fall asleep in school, 22% fall asleep doing homework, and 14% arrive late or miss school because they oversleep.
Adolescents who get insufficient amounts of sleep are more likely than their peers to get lower grades, while 80% of adolescents who get an optimal amount of sleep say they’re achieving As and Bs in school.
More than one-half (51%) of adolescent drivers have driven drowsy during the past year. In fact, 15% of drivers in 10th to 12th grades drive drowsy at least once a week.
Among those adolescents who report being unhappy, tense and nervous, 73% feel they don’t get enough sleep at night and 59% are excessively sleepy during the day.
More than one-quarter (28%) of adolescents say they’re too tired to exercise.
It really is more than just being "easily annoyed" if you don't find a way to help her change this pattern now she will be in for a life long fight when she is older.

Yes. Lack of sleep can cause mood changes, sleepiness, fatigue, irritability, difficulty concentrating and decreased reaction times. In children it is relatively common for sleepiness to be manifested as agitation or irritability, so lack of sleep could certainly cause a child to lose her temper easily.

Well that depends on the person, someone like me if I am tired, I don't have enough energy to lose my temper. But if your daughter has a lack of sleep and she is a minor make her go to bed earlier, if she is an adult don't let her disrespect you or your home stand up for yourself.

It basically depends on your state of mind at that moment.there are ppl who just want u to lose ur temper, but you need to win it over them. If their talks irritate you to a small degree, let go, but if it takes a serious note , like if they start pinching ur patience outta u, u need to calmly handle the situation.what I personally do in situations like these is, think bout something too pleasant, like my music or my mom's smiling face,(u can hv ur own bag of pleasant things)and reply to the toughest of criticism with a composed and cool voice, devoid of anger.
