JKRowling.com has recently been updated with news that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final book in the series, will be released on July 21st, 2007, one week after the fifth movie hits theaters.
Scholastic has followed with a press release in which Lisa Holton, President of Scholastic Children's Books said, 'We are thrilled to announce the publication date of the seventh installment in this remarkable series. We join J.K. Rowling's millions of readers - young and old, veterans and newcomers - in anticipating what lies ahead.' You can read the full press release here.
The hardcover will sell for $34.99 with the deluxe edition fetching $65.00. These high prices could mean the book will be longer than any of the previous six.
J.K.R has said in interviews that she thinks that Book 7 will be shorter than Order of the Phoenix. But assuming the book will be shorter than OOTP, which weighed in at 870 pages, she's still given herself room to write a respectable 869-page tome. J.K.R. has alot of loose ends that she needs to wrap up, so don't be surprised if Book 7 comes close to that length

I just wanted to point out that they both have sections specifically related to the seventh book where they give you all the information that is currently out there about it. It's coming out on july 21 this year. kind of close to the 5th movie which i dont think is very good but anyway.
on the other hand july 21 is the anniversary of the first book release years ago that started the HP!!

Due out July 21, 2007. Two characters will die, although she has hinted that none of the main three will die you never know. She did say on a website that two characters that were going to die got a second chance.

About all anyone knows is the title and that two characters are going to die. You should check out Rowling's site (jkrowling.com) or The Leaky Cauldron (the-leaky-cauldron.org). TLC really is an excellent source for news. Leaky updates their news all the time, so it'd be the best place to check for new news.
