I have very fine shoulder length hair and I shampoo it every other day, and rarely use conditioner. I don't use any styling products and normally let it dry naturally too. On the day I don't wash it though, it is really greasy, as if I haven't washed it for days and switching shampoos doesn't seem to help, even though I'm currently using Head & Shoulders for greasy hair. I need some top tips as I can't stand it anymore!

I have long hair and have to wash mine every other day but the second day it is really greasy the best thing to use just to get through the day with greasy roots. Is a product called Dry Shampoo that you can get from Boots the Lee Stafford range do one. Its great it refreshes your hair and gives you one extra day to not have to wash it.

I've had oily hair since I hit puberty. Here are my suggestions:

1) Wash hair daily. It will not damage your hair! I personally tried not washing my hair for a few days once to see if it would "normalize" - it didn't. It just looked like an oil slick.

2) Try one of these shampoos, as I have had great success with them: a) Matrix Biolage Normalizing Shampoo... b) Lush Solid Shampoo Bar in Irresistable Bliss (these bars are very thorough cleansers!!)... c) Pantene Clarifying Shampoo - quite ok to use this every day on oily hair

3) Consider dying your hair. I know that since I started dying my hair a light blonde, my oiliness has improved. Although it does come through when your roots grow in...

4) Try a Dry Shampoo for emergencies when hair is looking lank and you don't have time for a normal shampoo.

5) Be careful with conditioner - restrict its use to the ends of your hair only.

Good luck!

Try to avoid washing it everyday. the more you stimulate the glands that create the grease, the greasier it becomes
Try using a children's shampoo as these are often mild enough for greasy hair. Use shampoo's with a Ph balance. and natural ingrediants like Tea tree and/or Mint. I also heard that rubbing a little talc on to the roots helped to soak up the excess moisture, could try that. If you need any hair advice can ask you hairdresser what would be best or have alook round on the market, there are lots of choices for haircare.

Try washing your hair daily with a mild shampoo that doesn't contain conditioners - usually labelled 'for oily hair' or 'clarifying' - these products will leave the least amount of residue on your hair. Afterwards, use a very light cream rinse or conditioner on just the ends of your hair (if necessary), and be sure to rinse it out thoroughly. Avoid all products containing silicone, oils or lanolin, as well as two-in-one products - these can be too heavy and oily for fine hair. During the day, comb your hair a few times to help redistribute oils and reduce thin hair's stringy appearance. Or, for a more serious case of oily locks, spritz a little water on your hair and blow-dry it using a comb to remove and redistribute oils - the heat of the dryer will make the oils easier to manipulate. Good luck.

Here are some tips on oily hair prevention and resolution:

The most important thing you can do to prevent or resolve oily hair is to shampoo your hair daily. For people who tend to have a problem with oily hair, leaving the shampoo on your head for at least 5 minutes before rinsing may help.
Avoid brushing your hair too often or too vigorously, since the brushing will carry oil from your scalp to the ends of your hair.
Hormones affect oil production and therefore things that affect your hormone levels (such as stress or birth control pills) may also affect the oiliness of your hair.

superb hair is maximum at risk of looking 'oily' and might get this way after only at some point. p.c. on clean shampoos and stay removed from the creamy ones that have been made on your curlier sisters. you want a comfortable shampoo marked for on a daily basis or established washing. the secret superb hair shampoo lies in a physique-development element stated as panthenol. Hair specialists swear that panthenol penetrates the hair cuticle making each and every strand thicker. yet another tip: Use a dry shampoo or talcum powder between washings. no longer only will the powder take in oils, in spite of the undeniable fact that it provides physique as nicely. choosing shampoo for greasy hair is so straightforward as searching for the clearest shampoo you will discover. Creamy looking shampoo is possibly to incorporate oil trapping factors that isn't enable for a complete rinsing of the surplus oils out of your scalp. particular, the shampoo and conditioner combinations are handy, yet whilst it includes looking shampoo for greasy hair, save on strolling. Pantene professional-V clarifying shampoo is an incredible decision. wish this helped!

If it were me i would be probably be doing the same method as you are except that dont switch to different brands of shampoo but try using head and shoulders for normal hair....try that and see if it makes your hair any better. I have a feeling that "head and shoulders for greasy hair will put more grease in your hair". Good luck.

I'm a male, but I too suffer from this. In my case I have a oily skin & Oily hair.

What I have expearianced is that if take a daily bath (morning) with a mild shampoo. (Baby Shampoo) can controle a bit.
Also if I drink more water & keep my tummy cold, then it is less greasy. Try to avoid fat food. Do excersise regulary until you swet at least for about half an hour per day.

Cheers!

Your going to have to shampoo every day and NO conditioner, none at all. Not head and shoulders either, get a Paul Mitchell product, or Sebastian, they are good products, read the label and see what fits your needs....if they are too pricey try jhirmack shampoo.

Leave your hair for longer periods of time,It alows your hair to breathe a bit. Maybe do it for the first time when you plan on staying at home as initially leaving it will obviously be greesy, so changing the routine may make the difference. Doing this i went from washing it every 2 days to every 3 days. Also aviod touching or playing with your hair and wash your hair- brush regulary as well.
Hope it helps

how about using a neutralizing shampoo. It is generally used to stop the action of a perm or relaxer when someone is having it applied to their hair. But you can use it for your type of hair becuase it will pull the oil out. All it does is restore your hairs PH balance. You can find it at Walmart or any Sally Hansen beauty supply store.
