The banning of the book "Little Black Sambo" which was a favorite for many in my grandparents' generation...due to the banning of this book for politically correct reasons, it has actually raised the monetary value of those copies which haven't been destroyed - since now it is a more rare and valuable find! Sheesh!

Also, the teacher who was fired from a school district because someone walked in when she was teaching her class "Eeny, meeny, miney, moe..." For my generation and I'm certain for at least most of my parents' generation before me, the next line has been "Catch a tiger by the toe." The teacher (younger than me, actually, I believe), didn't have a clue as to the original words of the song, but was fired just the same for promoting such "racist" lyrics in her classroom.

I think everyone above has covered most of them.... The mad thing is that the average person in the street of all colour/race/creed thinks political correctness has gone mad but the rules seem to come from parliament who have no idea of real life.

I think Robin Roberts of Good Morning America on ABC started another one with her taking offense to someone saying they "slaved over a hot stove"! I like her but come on now, that's ridiculus!
Also, a white college fund! (Actually one college just did this to stir media I am sure) How about white history month!
I feel like I am wrong to refer to things as a 'black and white issue".

FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS RELATIVE. Free speech is acceptable only if it is politically correct and does not offend! NOW ITS A PARADOX. There is no such thing as free speech anymore! Is there? Those damn wooly diggles, I am so confused and feel like a person of limited brain wave capacity! A little sarcasm! Good Day ALL!

I think its a bad thing when a group of students on a campus, or other group of people who are self righteous decide to arbitrarily change the name of a minority group or disenfranchised group.

Minority groups, disenfranchised groups, the disabled, etc should all have the power to collectivly decide what words should be used to describe themselves. And these decisions should be made by them only. But what I think has happened in the past is a situation where others who think they know best have imposed changes in language and vocabulary on these groups.

Once I was in a conversation where I used the term "Jews". It was, in my opinion, a perfectly approriate use of the term. Someone responded to me by saying "Don't say 'Jews', say 'Jewish people'." They went on to say that my use of the term "Jews" sounded derogatory.

That, in my opinion, is political corrcetness gone awry. Whoever said that the term "Jews" is derogatory? Its a word used in the Bible and used by Jewish scholars to name a racial and religious group.

Its the self righteous and arbitrary act of changing things without even consulting those who you are trying to help. That's political corrcetness gone mad.

Its unfortunate, because there are so many wonderfull and good things about so-called 'political correctness'. People should be enpowered, have the right to be recognized, have words changed, and have accomodations made. But political correctness should be the result of a process that includes the disenfranchised people along with everyone else.

Police went into a little old ladies house and removed pig ornaments from the window because it offended Muslims. Some of them got broke in the process.

Some bloke was going to get done for reving their car in a racist way but got done for breach of the peace. Some Muslim got a fright when the car reved and went to the Police.

In a Church (for example) they have a kitchen with a kitchen sink and cooker but they're not allowed to cook in it. Reason being, it doesn't have a separate hand wash basin so it's not a kitchen but a servary. They're allowed serve tea and biscuits/cakes.

anybody bear in mind paper presentation charts (turn-charts) the place you write on a bite of paper and swap it over (or turn it over) so the subsequent web site may well be wrote on. nicely the term "turn" is derogatory while used to describe a guy or woman from the Philippines. i might in no way use the term to describe a guy or woman, yet turn is likewise a notice in English which ability turn over. although while i develop into interior the army you need to no longer call the paper charts turn-charts so you might no longer offend Filipinos. unusually i've got in no way met a Filipino who develop into indignant via the paper chart the two. They called them "turn-charts" too. I even have no longer something against Filipinos, yet what does a pad of paper might desire to do with race? no person is familiar with of what the suited term for the "enormous pad of paper which you write on in a presentation." maximum human beings use a white bored now; and what suitable to the "white bored". Does that mean white is boring? basically joking....do no longer exchange that too. (i be attentive to the spelling of board vs. bored. that could be a factor of my humorous tale...even human beings in YA will nag you approximately loopy stuff like that. the certainty i'm putting a laptop disclaimer obtainable is yet another one.)

I hate the American term 'person of colour'. It sounds ridiculous and cringy!

Also, when I was at college we were told we could not use the term 'brain-storming' as it could offend people with epilepsy!
