Can some one please explain WHY, the Catholic Church does not allow the, Here Comes The Bride song played anymore ?
I find this totally unacceptable. Just another reminder of why I left the church.

I don't think it's a standard, across-the-board restriction. I was just at a wedding in June where they played it. Some churches do prohibit secular music, though, and that's likely why the church you are referring to doesn't allow it to be used. It just depends on the church.

I live in Ny on Long island and churches here still play it, It was played and a friends wedding a couple months ago. I would call other churches and find out.

I am Catholic too, but I don't go anymore for obvious reasons, I did not know they did not allow that anymore. That is insane! Now i am even more glad I left the church too.

I'm guessing it's because the song really isn't scriptural and the Church is trying to make the ceremony more religious than secular.

I didn't know that this was the case. It's probably like the other churches not letting you choose nonreligous music. Just get married somewhere else.

(sarcasm alert)

So, you think it is unacceptable that the catholic Church will not allow YOU to do what YOU want to do? i mean after all, isn't it YOUR church and shouldn't their rules and laws change to suit YOUR wants?

Oh, poor child. Yes, I mean CHILD.

I would suggest running off to your Mom or Dad and complain to them, but they might tell you what you should do and I know that you do not want to hear that.

Besides, why do you want to get married in a Church that you left. Wouldn't that make you a hypocrite?

probably considered pagan. I don't think I have ever been to a wedding where they have played that-any church or any other place. I think it is tacky
