I'm a 16 year old girl, with a HUGE problem. My weight is starting to be a big problem. I'm 226 pounds and i'm 5'7. I have no energy anymore. I don't hang out with friends. And i'm done with this. I want and need to get it off. Does anyone know of some fast and effective ways to lose the weight? Like, any food plans. Diets. Anything! Any help would be great, thank you so much. :]

ALSO, does anyone know what kind of dancing is FUN and burns calories fast. I heard hiphop would. But, just curious, any others, or just stick to hiphop? I'm going to be taking dance classes soon. :]

Go to your nearest YMCA and get a membership. Have them set you up on a program that involves 1 hour of machine based weight training and 30 min of cardio. Do this Mon. Wed. and Fri. after school. Do not ever skip or miss a workout.
The diet part is easy. Forget all of the Atkins and South Beach bull.
The only thing that works is calorie counting. You will need to consume between 1500 to 1900 calories per day to lose weight. It is very important to make the calories you do consume come from a healthy source.
For example
Breakfast: bowl of plain oatmeal made with skim milk and a piece of fruit, not instant with sugar and flavors.
Snack: rice cake with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
Lunch: salad with grilled chicken tomatoes avocado dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Snack: low fat low sugar yogurt and a piece of fruit.
Supper: 1 can of tuna mixed into a green salad with a lot of vegetables, dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Snack: smoothie made with a frozen banana two frozen strawberries and 1 cup skim milk mixed in a blender.
Each meal should be consumed with a tall glass of water. No juice, soda, fastfood or deserts should be consumed before you reach your weight loss goal.
Of course you would not eat the same thing everyday but this gives you an idea of the foods to be selecting for your meals.
I used a similar exercise and diet routine and I lost 80 Lbs. in 4 months and have kept it off for 4 years.
Healthy and sustained weightloss never happens fast or with fad diets. The program I have recomended will help you to change your lifestyle, which is the root cause of any overweight problem.

Here are some misconceptions that many believe are real:
Lie #1
The scale is the best way to measure my progress.
This is common misconception among dieters. While the scale can give you a reasonable estimate of your weight activity, it does not take into account body composition. Additionally, a person's weight can vary up to six pounds per day, depending on hydration levels.
So how can you do it the right way? Body fat testing is a more accurate indicator of progress and it should be done every 4-6 weeks.
Lie #2
If I strength train/lift weights, I will bulk up.
Regardless of what the latest issue of Men's Health says, you will not turn into Arnold Schwarzenegger overnight. Bulking is also of great concern for women and it doesn't need to be. Muscle takes a long time to develop – it doesn't happen suddenly. Additionally, most women do not carry the genetics to increase their muscle mass the point where they find it unattractive.
For men, gaining mass requires a well developed strength training program as well as the proper nutrition. At the end of the day, there is a lot more that goes into building muscle than just an hour at the gym.
Lie #3
My diet should be very low in fat, calories, or carbohydrates.
Intellectually, it seems to make sense that the less we eat, the more weight we lose, right? Right.
Unfortunately, the body doesn't work that way. Without proper amounts of fat, calories and carbohydrates, the body functions at a sub-optimal level. In other words, you could actually be having a negative effect on your body by limiting such nutrients.
See a registered dietician or a nutritionist to determine the appropriate levels of fats, calories, and carbohydrates for your specific goals.
Lie #4
If I exercise, I can eat whatever I want.
Unfortunately, this isn't true either. Weight loss amounts to a greater expenditure of calories than we consume. As unfair as it may be, going to the gym five days a week does not give you license to participate in beer drinking contests every weekend.
Approximately 80% of weight loss stems from proper nutrition. That's right – you may have been putting too much thought into your cardio regimen and not nearly enough thought into what you eat. Just some food for thought.
Lie #5
It is reasonable to expect to lose 10 pounds in a month.
It is possible to lose 10 pounds of scale weight in one month's time but unfortunately, the majority of that weight is water and waste. Fat loss averages between 1-2 pounds per month for women and 3-4 lbs for men.
Going back to the point above, the scale is not a very reliable indicator of what is happening inside your body.
Good luck!

I congratulate you for standing up and admitting that you need to do something about your weight as some people cant even do that ,so you have made the first big step.
I done a B.M.I (Body Mass Index) on the info that you have given and it comes to 38 which is in the Maximum high risk range,as you need to be in the 20-25 range. There is no fast easy way of doing this as you need to loose about 65lbs and safely ,this will take about 8-9 months if you stick to it and stay positive. You will need some support through family, friends or someone else that has had a similar problem and succeeded.
For a start you need to cut your calories down to around 1500-1600 calories and start with some gradual exercise like walking ,3-4 times a week for 15-20 minutes and each week, try to do a little longer. When it comes to what to eat you must get a balanced Nutritional Plan as I hate the name"DIET" as a Nutritional Plan is for the rest of your life that teaches you to loose weight, maintain and keep it off so you can have long term good health.
There are a wide range of "DIET" plans out there, but some of them can be very dangerous and also they do not teach you how to change your eating habits to keep the weight off.
I personally have used one that I have gone from 234lbs(106kg)down to 185lbs(84kg)and I'am in my 40s and have started to do things that I have not done for over 20 years and have kept the weight off. If you need a Mentor ,I would be happy to help you through every step of your goal, so if you have any other Q,s please email me and I will help you as much as I can.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

You should buy a shape magazine... they are a huge source of motivation and an aid to eating right and working out. There is also a colum called "sucess stories" which outlines exactly how people lost excess weight. Once you read one you'll be hooked and you won't regret it! Good luck

To lose weight fast doesn't guarantee your good-looking and healty body. My simple advise that to reduce the portion of your fat-contained-meal into fruits and vegetables. And for the beginning just to walk around your home?
Please don't try to find fast weight loss, your skin will be damaged and wrinkled
