Does celery have any anaesthetic properties?

My tongue always feels slighty numb after eating raw celery and I wondered if it had any anaesthetic properties.

Mine too, but I think it is because your taste buds want real food. At least mine do.

Not that I know of. What you describe sounds more like an allergy to celery.

Only if u eat 4.8 tonnes of it with no salt.
