Lately I am doing very bad at university despite I am studying harder than before. I feel sleepy all the time, I can't focus on my study and other jobs. I feel like my memory has degraded, I can't remember things I study. Do you think I am suffering from any mental difficulty?

It is a probability. Depression as illness must be treated correctly, or it will become chronic. If you have felt depressed and with loss of energy for at least two weeks, more days than not, almost every hour you are awake; with four of the following: loss of appetite, loss of libido, insomnia, decrease speed of thought, feelings of worthlessness, problems with thought and concentration, memory problems, suicidal thoughts; then you are having a Major Depressive Disorder Episode (DSM IV TR 296.23).

Some minor depressions may be caused by exhaustion, poor eating habits and a sedentary life. However, if you have all the above, you must consult a professional, the psychiatrist, is preferred because he could prescribe you some sleep pills, and order some laboratories (eg CBCC, UA, Comprehensive Met Panel).

Take care. (I am in Yahoo in Spanish, i'm not sure how i got your question. If you know some Spanish try to answer this one)

I experienced similar symptoms while I was at university. I used to sleep 15+hrs a day. I didn't feel depressed at the time and would never have said it was because of the course.
I eventually had to drop out because I'd got so far behind I couldn't catch up.
Go and see a doctor, all the symptoms you talk about are associated with depression, remember you don't have to feel sad to be depressed, it's a chemical thing! They might be able to recommend something that could help you stay on your course, which is the most important thing.

I, personally, think you are suffering from post- winter vaction stress. You had a month to relax and now you have to get back in to the studying mode. Also, even if you are studying harder are you partying harder as well? If you are you should cut that out. You have a few signs of depression, but I don'T think you are depressed. If you feel really unhappy thoug seek help and see what someone can do for you.

Firstly, if you start believing that you are mentally disabled then you will find hard to recover.
Basically, these are symptoms of lethargy. Your thoughts are mixed. You want to do something but couldn't plan it out, uninterested in looking ahead.
You need to boast up your energy. Be more physical, and sleep on time, check your diet, you are likely missing out essential food.
And you still can recover from depression.

It is possible that you are depressed. I would suggest going to campus health and talking to them. Really people on a message board can't get enough information to give you an answer.
