Learn all you can about the breed. Take your puppy to a good training club as soon as it is old enough to socialise both the puppy & show you the best training tips.
As someone else said, hope your puppy came from a reputable breeder - unfortunately there are a lot of breeders just breeding Bichons for money with no regard to health & temperament.

A well-trained dog makes everyone happy, including his owner. Take a little time training him, and you'll never regret it; you'll always have an obedient dog by your side. Find more https://tr.im/zqkeJ

By their nature, dogs are pack animals with a well-defined social order. Through basic training, you need to consistently make sure your puppy understands that you are the leader, not him. So in teaching him the basic rules, you take on the role of pack leader.

To fit into the family circle, your dog must be taught to recognize his name and such commands as come, heel, lie down and sit.

Socialise it at an early age with other puppies. Many vets offer puppy parties in their surgerys.

When it comes to training depends on what you want to train it to do. Also depend on what motivates your dog. If your dog is food motivated then it will quickly learn to do what you ask if it is rewarded. Some dogs are willing to do things just for praise.

Recommend you get a good book on the subject & spend February reading it.

The important thing to remember is to not let the cute little puppy do anything you don't want the adult dog to do. If you want to train it to do tricks, wait until it is 6 months old before you really start that training. At first you want them to just learn manners.

If you get the National Geographic Channel, watch The Dog Whisperer Cesar Milan. He will help you understand how dogs think and the best way to get your point across. No yelling or spanking!

hopefully you are getting pup from a reputable breeder.... in the meantime get a crate and read all you can on how to use it properly,,, when you cannot properly supervise the pup, at nighttime;; this will help your housebreaking immensely and provide the dog a safe and secure place when u are not home...... also talking with the breeder should help you alot too
